To sing well you need two things.
First you want your voice to be free and strong. Free to move throughout your range easily and
comfortably, and strength to sing without getting tired.
Secondly, you want to sing from the heart so you can connect you and your music to your audience.
How do you achieve both these things?
1. Vocal Strength and Freedom.
Your vocal muscles must be strong but not forced. You achieve that by vocalizing every and warming up your voice every day. You must be able to feel your support by doing consistent practice over a long period of time.
Use your kinesthetic sense of how voice and the body coordinate to produce your best sound. When you feel your voice working effortlessly, tune in a focus on how it feels. Remember the feeling.
This is vocal technique.
2. Singing from the Heart.
Connecting to the composer of the music, the feeling of the music, the meaning of the words, the experience of singing, these are the things that make it easy to connect first to yourself (very important!) and then to your listener. Think of vocal technique as the vehicle that supports the heart connection. It let's you sing the way you want to sing.
Cantare is a warm up and vocalization CD that will support your vocal growth in both areas.
"I just want to thank you a million times over for making the Cantare CD. I've made it part of my daily routine for awhile now and without it I wouldn't have the discipline. Does it ever make a difference!"
